The Department of Global Health - International Clincial Research Center (ICRC) has an outstanding opportunity for a Data Manager. This individual will provide data management, programming and statistical support to clinical trial operations, which may include some or all of the following: performs simple statistical analyses; provides input on design of data collection, data management and analysis systems; evaluates new statistical and data management software; performs lab and data quality assurance and edit checks.

The Data Manager works closely with the data management team and spends the majority of work time providing data management and programming support for a number of crucial and challenging operations tasks, including programming complex reports and performing lab and data quality assurance and edit checks.

  • Develop and maintain laboratory and clinical databases
  • Program, design and coordinate production of statistical reports.
  • Prepare written summaries and tables of results for use in project reports and scientific papers and grant applications.
  • Establish goals and timetables for projects.
  • Coordinate with coordinating center staff, laboratory staff and DataFax staff on design of data collection, management, and data transfer.
  • Develop, coordinate, evaluate, and perform quality assurance procedures for on-going data collection and analysis.
  • Communicate with study sites regarding questions on case report forms and other emerging data issues.
  • Provide summary datasets for analysis in consultation with protocol statistician.
  • Create graphs, tables and descriptive summaries of data for publication or oral presentations.
  • Evaluate new statistical or data management software, as needed.
  • Manage other data-related projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree (MS or MPH) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data management or data analysis.
  • Proficiency with SAS, Windows based computing.
  • Background in statistical computing, and experience with DataFax and Access.
  • Outgoing personality; energetic and self-motivated individual with demonstrated maturity and seasoned judgment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Desired:

  • Previous clinical trials experience and familiarity with laboratory data preferred.
