POSITION DUTIES: Per Attached Position Description
The Snohomish Health District is currently accepting applications for a Part Time Nutritionist in our Child Care Outreach Program. The incumbent is responsible for nutritional assessments in childcare facilities, nutrition education, development and facilitation of distance learning and on-line trainings, and collaborations with child care providers and community partners to improve nutrition in child cares. Incumbent collaborates with various disciplines and agencies serving child cares to identify and address nutritional needs impacting the child care population. Incumbent serves as an expert of children’s nutritional issues and applies a working knowledge of public health practices and concepts of child nutrition.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university in human nutrition, foods and nutrition, dietetics, or food systems management. One year of recent, relevant experience in public health or community based nutrition services. Washington State Department of Health Certified Dietitian or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
BENEFITS: Snohomish Health District provides medical, dental, vision and life insurance for employees plus dependents if elected at a cost (prorated for Part Time). Participation with the Department of Retirement Systems retirement (PERS) is mandatory. Annual leave is earned at the rate of 12 days per year (prorated for Part Time) during the first year and increases with the length of service; sick leave is earned at the rate of 12 days per year (prorated for Part Time); 10 paid holidays per year plus 2 personal holidays (prorated for Part Time).
