Sr. Performance Management Analyst - Sound Physicians

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for designing and implementing best-in-class Applied Analytics Business Intelligence engine:

  • Advance Sound’s analytical capabilities in terms of data acquisition, data integrity, access, and insights. Provide a concise, insightful quarterly performance notebook
  • Build systems to access and analyze PM metrics and develop meaningful reports for existing, integrated, and new service lines
  • Distill meaningful insights from process and outcome metrics to define the results narrative
  • Complete ad hoc analyses to support Sound senior management
  • Drive thought leadership around Sound’s performance management via innovative analytic insights
  • Develop analytic insights in understandable format for communication to senior management, regional operators and the field
  • Support development, implementation and on-going support of a self-service tool (i.e., Tableau) for advanced users

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Metrics, Measurement and Analytics

  • Manage and analyze large data sets including clinical registries, administrative data, billing claims, insurance and others
  • Conduct basic statistical analysis (e.g., descriptive, correlations, regression)
  • Develop clear and well-structured analytic plans
  • Create efficient and reusable SQL code to manipulate and analyze data, including QA.
  • Build statistical models, and diagnose, validate and improve the performance of the models
  • Maintain optimal comparative benchmark data sets and comparative methodology to reflect best in class performance
  • Serve as point of contact; lead the development of specs, creation of SQL extracts, and QA processes to ensure quality data delivery for internal and external customers

Applied Informatics Business Intelligence platform

  • Develop and advance the tools used to measure and report Sound’s performance
  • Develop and maintain a self-serve performance notebook for senior leadership
  • Participate in the design, implementation and on-going support of a self-service BI solution
  • Participate in the development, testing, implementation and support of an integrated family of interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Provide ad hoc query support

Communication/Education

  • Clearly/ concisely represent PM results in formats meaningful to senior management, regional operators and the field. Use data to concisely and clearly “tell the story.”
  • Establish and maintain an active communication channel with business owners to understand and represent “voice of the customer” in development of solutions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to assess technical challenges, program solutions, and solve complex problems
  • Strong experience coding in data manipulation and analysis using SQL or SAS Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong understanding of advanced analytics to include basic statistics
  • Project management and performance improvement experience or knowledge

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Education

Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in operations, engineering, statistics, mathematics, computer science, business, economics, or finance

Preferred: MS, MBA, MHA. Basic understanding of accounting is a plus.

Experience

Minimum: 2 yrs. in an analytical and/or market research role within healthcare

Preferred: 3-5 yrs in an analytical and/or market research role in healthcare

LIST SPECIAL JOB OR ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Indoor office environment
  • Travel: Moderate (< 10 trips per year)
