Purpose of Position:
This position will develop, maintain and collaborate with partners to provide on-going technical assistance and training. Services provided may include but not limited to, nutrition education and obesity prevention interventions for low-income individuals, eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and Healthy Kids Healthy Communities (HKHC) program. Incumbent will support policies, systems and environmental changes that support healthy eating and increased physical activity. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education will become a major initiative of the Obesity, Nutrition and Physical Activity Program.
This position is a Pay Band 65.

- Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or Education and two (2) years of experience in a health related field. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Working Conditions:This position will perform work in an office setting with exposure to visual/video display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Lifting up to thirty (30) pounds may be required. Some statewide and out-of-state travel using a state owned vehicle with the occasional overnight night stay is required.
