The Research Support Specialist I (RSSI) is an administrative support position that provides specialized support to research faculty and staff within Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute., a national leader in healthcare research.
The RSSI will be very organized and detail-oriented and expected to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills (written and oral) and experience working with several customers at the same time.  In this position, you will reconcile and track expenses, manage staff calendars, schedule meetings, and may organize special projects and events. You will use your expertise in MS Office and visual programs to prepare research manuscripts, compile grant applications and presentation materials including graphics and spreadsheets.

Schedule Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, some flexibility available

Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma/GED 

Preferred Education
Some college  
Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements
MS Office
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
Operate basic office equipment
Ability to rapidly learn new software/new procedures
Prioritize multiple deadlines
Communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Minimum Experience Requirements
1 year Administrative experience (or comparable customer service-oriented experience)

Preferred Experience
3 years Administrative support experience
