There is one (1) opening for a full-time permanent Environmental Engineer 5 (EE 5) within the Division of Environmental Public Health – Office of Drinking Water. This recruitment may be used to fill other EE 5 positions within the section.

Skills/Eligibility:

Required Qualifications
 NOTE:  Experience may have been gained concurrently.

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in one (1) of the following engineering fields: sanitary, water resource, civil, geotechnical, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or a related field; AND five (5) or more years of experience in environmental engineering.

OR

• A Master’s degree or higher in one (1) of the following engineering fields: sanitary, water resource, civil, geotechnical, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or a related field; AND four (4) or more years of experience in environmental engineering.

OR

• A Doctorate degree or higher in one (1) of the following engineering fields: sanitary, water resource, civil, geotechnical, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or a related field; AND three (3) or more years of experience in environmental engineering.

AND

• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Washington and in good standing with the professional licensing board.

• Four (4) or more years of demonstrated experience working with federal or Washington State drinking water regulations.

• Demonstrated experience in the following:

o Using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
o Analyzing data using databases.
o Planning and adjusting workload to meet deadlines, prioritizing core business functions.

Desired Qualifications
 NOTE:  Experience may have been gained concurrently.

• A Master’s degree or higher in one (1) of the following engineering fields: sanitary, water resource, civil, geotechnical, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or related field.

• Two (2) or more years of experience in distribution system design and assessment.

• Washington Water Distribution Manager Level 1 In-Training or higher certification.
