Description:

This position will participate in infectious disease surveillance and response for the state of New Mexico as part of the Infectious Disease Epidemiology Bureau’s (IDEB) Informatics /Data Team, and Core Surveillance Team. Incumbent will participate in infectious disease surveillance, assist with surveillance system administration, and collaborate with subject matter experts to create new disease investigation pages in the New Mexico Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NM-EDSS). This position will monitor daily and weekly Electronic Laboratory Report volume, and participate in report validation. Incumbent will develop and maintain data cleaning programs in Statistical Analysis Software (SAS), develop and maintain quality assurance reports using SAS, work with Subject Matter Experts to identify and correct errors in the surveillance system, and create and modify data fields in NM-EDSS. This position will provide training and technical assistance to all NM-EDSS users, and may be involved in data management and training activities for other databases within, or used by, IDEB.
