Position Overview: Education Specialist

The Education Specialist, who reports to the Education Director, leverages a foundational understanding of seating and robust interpersonal skills to interact productively with worldwide wheelchair users, caregivers, clinicians and mobility professionals to educate on postural support and connect constituent needs with appropriate Bodypoint solutions and expertise. S/he develops, repurposes, presents, updates and maintains trade, print and digital content that optimizes selection, referral to and use of Bodypoint products. Additionally, s/he recommends, configures and installs BP products for demonstrations and on-site users.


Develops and presents sales, user, technical and clinical training materials in digital and print formats, including live and archived video, Webinars, audio, teleconferences, phone calls, personal visits/meetings, trade shows, shared screens, live chat

Educates internal staff on new products and trains new employees on BP product line

Teaches/coaches others in best practices

Takes digital photos and films videos; records audio; integrates and edits tracks to final form

Elicits and leverages case studies, photos and other peer-to-peer educational content

Proactively develops and refines content to address product selection, sizing, configuration, mounting and re-evaluation, within home, long-term and outpatient care settings

Through calls, emails and personal interaction, develops and solidifies relationships with users, caregivers, clinicians, independent sales representatives, distributors, dealers, online resellers and other constituents to ensure they are in a position to successfully recommend, specify and configure Bodypoint solutions

Ensures that internal Bodypoint discussions and external constituents’ experiences are incorporated into training material and technical aids, new product portfolio and launch programs

Recruits users into social media ambassadorship and user testing programs, and creates positive user and caregiver experiences to encourage recommendation and referrals

Identifies, documents and addresses market shortfalls in product knowledge, indications for use, and selection criteria, in consultation with Marketing Director

Acts independently within established guidelines

Pays attention to details and delivers a high quality product on time

Works cross-functionally within Bodypoint and with customers, to ensure optimal results

Plans and implements multiple projects by setting objectives and goals; developing schedules and tasks; adjusting for problems or roadblocks

Required travel: <10%, primarily local day trips


Bachelor’s degree with a Master’s degree strongly preferred, and at least one of the following credentials and licensure in the State of Washington: OT, PT, CRC, RT, ATP, RTS, RN, NP, SLP, PA, or equivalent expertise/experience in wheelchair positioning

3+ years of full-time related post-graduate professional experience, or the equivalent

Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines on multiple projects, work independently and leverage available resources

Must be a continuous and self-directed learner, remaining up to date on seating, positioning and mobility literature and trends

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Pleasant, clear speaking voice and professional demeanor for interaction and voiceover work

Able to achieve personal rapport while maintaining a professional relationship, with evidence of ability to interact with diverse populations
