Healthy Communities Coordinator - Umatilla County

The Healthy Communities and Public Health Modernization Coordinator is responsible for developing and leading a group of community health partners to assemble and implement a plan to reduce the burden of chronic disease throughout Umatilla County. The coordinator will also be responsible for building the UCo Health department capacity in the 7 foundational capacities in order to improve the Department’s ability to implement the four foundational programs as defined by Oregon’s public health modernization framework. In addition the Coordinator will serve as the Department’s Accreditation Coordinator and be responsible for Department’s efforts to obtain external accreditation by the Public Health Accreditation Board. An ideal candidate would be a creative thinker, highly community-focused with a strong background in public health, project management and community engagement.
REQUIREMENTS: Degree in nursing, social work, public health, nutrition and/or related field plus three years of related public health work experience. Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred. Knowledge of field concepts, practices and principles related to public health, community wellness, diet and exercise, school-based nutrition, collective impact and/or social determinants of health. Experience working effectively with teams. Group facilitation experience with a wide variety of participants. Demonstrated project management skills, including managing and prioritizing multiple tasks. Demonstrated grants management experience, including budget oversight and reporting. Proactive approach, exercise professional judgment, and make sound decisions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office systems, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. Have and maintain a driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. Bilingual desired. Have the ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to work with clients of varying ages, gender, race, ethnicity, religious and social backgrounds.
