This Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) Public Health Nurse (PHN) position is responsible for developing and managing the Communicable Disease Epidemiology and Immunization Section’s (CD-EPI Section’s) healthcare-associated infection (HAI) program, including development of a 2-year strategic plan, and investigation, response, and prevention activities. Major areas of responsibility include conducting protocol development, data analysis, data management, communications (internal and external), hospital and healthcare facility preparedness, and administrative duties as assigned.
This PHN position will work with infection preventionists (IPs) to increase traditional disease reporting, enhance early emerging infectious disease detection and response, and decrease healthcare associated infections. In addition, this position will provide backup coverage for routine communicable disease operations work including foodborne and enteric illnesses, vaccine preventable diseases, zoonotic diseases and other diseases as assigned.
