The purpose of this position is to perform active population-based surveillance and assist with special studies for the New Mexico Emerging Infections Program (NM EIP). This position will perform day-to-day NM EIP activities and quality assurance projects primarily across two NM EIP programs: Active Bacterial Core Surveillance and Respiratory Disease Surveillance. The surveillance officer will collaborate with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, New Mexico Department of Health and University of New Mexico personnel to complete surveillance activities and special NM EIP Projects, including epidemiologic studies and data validation projects. In addition, this position will participate in the on-call epidemiology team that investigates outbreaks and cases of communicable diseases throughout the state.
This position is a Pay Band 70.
