This position provides leadership over all Sanitation and Pest Control related aspects at the Hermiston, OR facility. It also supports the food safety programs and will collaborate with other leaders to improve overall food safety at the facility. This position will also work with 3rd party sanitation/chemical and pest control vendors to ensure they are meeting contractual service agreements. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.Skills/Eligibility:
• B.S. in Food Technology, Engineering, Microbiology, or other related field is preferred.• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing and 2 years of supervisory experience is required.• Certified Sanitarian preferred.• Knowledge in HACCP, Microbiology, Sanitation, Chemical Safety, Pest Control, and Quality Systems. • Understand and comply with government regulations relating to OHSA, FDA, USDA, and EPA. • Excellent understanding of food safety, sanitary design, sanitation and pest management in food processing. • Experience with using a full range of statistical and analytical tools and fundamentals. • Experience with regulatory, third party, and customer audits. • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), and excellent report writing skill. • Must demonstrate proven critical thinking, people and team development skills, strategic aptitude, and independent leadership. • HACCP Certification • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) Training Completed • Proficient using Microsoft Office applications. • Valid drivers license. • Successful completion of company vehicle training.
Physical Requirements: Incumbent must have the ability to effectively perform all of the following physical demands without assistance: • Sitting for up to 8 hours a day • Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally (up to 40 pounds infrequently). • Walking on various manufacturing facility surfaces • Climbing up ladders and stairs • Investigate cramped and confined spaces • Exposed to plant noises and vibrations • Temperature changes from hot to cold depending on work areaHow to Apply:
