IRB Manager - Quorum Review IRB

The IRB Manager is responsible for the administration of Quorum’s IRB and IBCs, and the supervision of the IRB Administration team. The IRBManager is required to oversee, among other things, logistical and administrative coordination of Board activities, schedules, and trainingactivities. The IRB Manager ensures that applicable laws, regulations, and Quorum policies governing human subject protection are upheld inthe management of Board activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign, monitor, and evaluate staff workload  to ensure prompt and accurate completion of work
  • Support staff development, and review performance on a regular and annual basis
  • Identify, communicate, and address staff performance issues on a timely basis
  • Provide leadership and direction through operational and organizational change
  • Facilitate team development activities to deepen staff knowledge and skills
  • Facilitate team engagement activities to support  team morale
  • Assign and oversee projects delegated to IRBA team members as needed

Additional Projects and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and develop process improvements, including IT projects
  • Re-engineer and update existing procedures as needed to capture efficiencies and provide accurate documentation of processes
  • Develop and maintain guidance documents as required by procedures
  • Oversee the collection and reporting of metrics
  • Maintain productive and collaborative working relationships across the company to resolve interdepartmental issues in a timely manner
  • Act as conduit for communication between the Members of the Board and Quorum operations
  • Regularly attend IRB Meetings to provide administrative and regulatory assistance to Board members
  • Coordinate monthly in-service trainings and assist with content development and delivery as necessary
  • Administer initial Board appointment and annual re-appointment process
  • Keep abreast of applicable laws, regulations, and Quorum policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified
  • Understand and adhere to Quorum’s compliance standards and guidelines

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
  • IRB training and/or advanced coursework relating to IRB regulations and guidance strongly preferred
  • CIP certification or equivalent certification required (within 1 year of hiring)
  • IBC training and/or advanced coursework relating to IBC regulations and guidance strongly preferred
  • 3 – 5 years of proven success working within an IRB and directly supporting Board activities
  • 3 – 5 years of customer service, administrative support, project management, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of IRB and IBC regulations/guidance and operations strongly preferred
