This Principal Investigator (PI) position will assure all activities associated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Emerging Infections Program (EIP) Active Bacterial Surveillance (ABCs) and be an integral part of the Infectious Disease Epidemiology Bureau (IDEB) leadership team for infectious disease surveillance and response activities throughout New Mexico. The ABCs PI will coordinate EIP ABCs initiatives with our partners at the University of New Mexico, other in-state agencies and private partners as well as with the national network of ten EIP sites.
This supervisory position will assure all aspects of the ABCs active, population-based surveillance system in New Mexico including preparation of grant applications and related reports and scientific manuscripts, attendance at local and national meetings, supervision of employees, and scientific leadership at the state and national levels. Other IDEB duties will include participation in the emergency on-call services of IDEB and other activities related to infectious disease surveillance and response in the state. This position is a Pay Band 98.
