The purpose of this position is to To improve safe prescribing practices and prevent prescription drug overuse, misuse, abuse, and overdose. This position will support tribal-based initiatives to change prescriber and patient behaviors, as well as increase access to and use of the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP), in collaboration with public health, Indian Health Service, clinical facilities, and pharmacies in Tribes and Pueblos throughout the state. This position will also research new studies and strategies from other states and agencies and support the development of effective and new policies, initiatives, and tasks regarding substance abuse issues in Native American communities. This position is a Pay Band 70.
