Job Duties

  • Work with contract monitors, implementing agencies, stakeholders, and planning teams to design program performance measures and evaluation approaches
  • Develop data collection instruments and analytic approach, as necessary, to ensure high quality data collection
  • Participate in the coordination of data collection and management, including data compilation from internal and external sources and data quality assurance processes
  • Train and support contractors on performance data collection, reporting, and other evaluation related activities
  • Analyze and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate statistical methods and data manipulation tools
  • Prepare performance dashboards and other regular performance reports for stakeholders
  • Prepare and present reports and briefings that summarize results and interpretations of findings for a wide range of audiences including policy makers, department leadership, service providers, clients, advocates and/or community representatives
  • Respond to other data requests as assigned and perform other duties as assigned

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

  • A bachelor degree in social sciences or public policy areas with ?upper level course work in performance measurement, research methods and statistics and/or equivalent education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience or graduate education in social sciences or public policy areas with coursework in program evaluation, research methods and statistics.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with social, health or human services projects in designing and implementing real world evaluation processes.
  • Experience cleaning, validating, and analyzing data using at least one data analysis software application (e.g., R, STATA, SAS, etc.).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience making formal presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work independently and to maintain collaborative relationships as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work quickly and accurately under deadlines, work on a number of tasks simultaneously, and organize and prioritize work in response to changing needs.

The following are desirable qualifications:

  • Experience working with or evaluating programs for children and families or veterans, service members and their families.
  • Understanding of Results-Based Accountability and Developmental Evaluation concepts. 
  • Experience working with business intelligence software such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience with SQL for querying databases or willingness to learn.
