  1. Effective in maintaining and growing business to and across VMC Clinic Network and hospital from physicians as indicated in volume reports.

  2. Focused on containment of outmigration, implementing B2B physician referral plans and strategies, understanding of profitability and downstream revenue. Establishes and monitors appropriate tracking mechanisms and demonstrates positive ROI.




  1. Works with providers to facilitate introductions to other referral-path providers and/or hospital programs and services with a focus on business development across the organization.

  2. Leads communication efforts with provider network. Informs providers about news, key programs, new providers and services across the organization. Assesses provider needs and gaps, collects feedback on issues/problems and follows up. Focused on strengthening physician engagement.

  3. Assists with the development of content, distributes and communicates key information as directed by hospital administration, medical staff office, HR and marketing.

  4. Responds quickly to issues identified by providers pertinent to the job role and builds trust. Skillful in communicating with the physician liaison and/or appropriate administrator(s) and consistently responding back in a timely way.

  5. Identifies providers who need to build their panels and implements appropriate tactics in collaboration with the marketing team such as referral visits, provider videos, community DocTalks, and social media/blog posts.

  6. Identifies and follows through on opportunities and demonstrates skill and persistence in overcoming objections/obstacles.

  7. Maintains up-to-date provider lists as well as the Find-a-Doc and physician referral portals, ensuring our referral pathways are synced and up-to-date.

  8. Assists Clinic Network with patient and staff communication regarding providers on new/terming providers, office moves/expansions, new specialties/certs and other topics as needed.

  9. Tracks key visits, opportunities and issues monthly report to leadership. Completes interaction reports, including ROI for each referral source and provides to administration on a quarterly basis; marketing on a monthly basis.

  10. This position requires someone who is self motivated, persistent and able to deliver quality work. Consistent follow-through is expected and essential.

  11. The successful candidate will be able to manage their daily duties while offering exceptional support, VMC knowledge and presentation skills.

  12. It is imperative that candidates are enthusiastic and thrive on a tight schedule with the proven ability to complete projects on time.

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Health Sciences.

  2. Five years’ experience in the healthcare industry working with provider practices and building strong relationships with providers and their office staff.



  1. Broad understanding of physician referral patterns in clinic, inpatient and ambulatory environments with proven ability to communicate/coach to contain outmigration.

  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

  3. Knowledge of EHR reporting, Tableau and Sharepoint preferred.

  4. Ability to organize, prioritize and reprioritize work.

  5. Must have exceptional skill with building relationships, presenting, evaluating and recommending a course of action, scheduling, organizing, prioritizing, problem solving and setting personal goals.
