Environmental Program Manager - Amazon

The Environmental Program Manager will be responsible for the environmental aspects of AWS planning and development globally. The successful candidate will define regional requirements and support development of standards, policies and procedures, and will oversee permitting and other environmental planning and governmental approval processes. The individual will complete contractual and regulatory requirements analyses, and will work with internal and external partners that include government entities, contractors, consultants, design services, construction, operations and other key stakeholders.
The Environmental Program Manager must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong environmental regulatory knowledge, with global experience preferred, demonstrated success in program development and project management, and experience leading and partnering with geographically disperse teams.
A completed Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, chemical or environmental engineering or related field of study
10+ years of experience serving as an environmental technical resource, environmental manager, program specialist, or program manager
Experience with contractual, regulatory, and liability assessments, planning approvals, air permit evaluations and applications, water discharge requirements, and waste management
Broad knowledge of global environmental regulations and programs
Experience leading change in multiple site environments and the ability to influence those that are not direct reports or within your organization
Due diligence assessment experience including risk assessments, environmental liability assessment
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, strong relationship builder, solid influencing and negotiation skills, and the ability to coach at multiple levels
Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems
