The Community Resilience + Equity Program Coordinator works closely with the CR + E Program Manager to accomplish a broad set of goals, including the development of a program framework that integrates programming related to health, climate change and emergency preparedness.
The position is responsible for updating, maintaining and evaluating the effectiveness of the Community Communication Network- a notification system that works in partnership with community organizations and leaders. A significant part of the role will include assuring that emergency communication reaches limited English speakers as articulated in RCW 38.52.070, a new Washington State law. This position also supports Public Health’s internal Equity Response Team- assuring systems and plans are in place to effectively assess, monitor and report on disproportionate impacts faced by vulnerable populations in an emergency response.
This position includes representing the Community Resilience + Equity Program at a variety of meetings addressing such issues as climate change, disability planning, emergency transportation and homelessness. This unique opportunity requires a self-motivated and creative individual who is comfortable serving independently and as a team.
We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about working with diverse partners, particularly those impacted by existing inequities, and is a high level, strategic thinker. This is a perfect opportunity for someone interested in public health and/or emergency preparedness, and addressing health disparities.
This position is a ten-month AmeriCorps service opportunity and contingent on funding.
