ORGANIZATIONAL LOCATION: Department of Health & Health Human Services (HHS), Indian Health Service (IHS), Southwest Region, Phoenix Area, Quality Management Division, Fort Yuma Service Unit, located in Winterhaven, California.Position is supervised under the Supervisory Heath System Specialist ( Quality Management).Skills/Eligibility:
- Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene), or degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study from among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology. OR
- 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal service obtained in either the private or public sector the following type of work and/or tasks: Establishing and maintaining working relationships with internal and external customers. Experience with managing a safety program that meets all healthcare accreditation standards and implementing and directing comprehensive hospital-based environmental control and occupational health, safety, and security program.
