Sports Legislation Project Manager

The UW Medicine Sports Health and Safety Institute believes that sports make a lasting, positive contribution to each participant’s physical, mental, social, and emotional health.  We also know that the sports and activities we love have risks. Our purpose is to provide balanced information about the benefits and risks of sports and recreational activities in order to inform the important health decisions athletes, parents, coaches, and health professionals make every day.

The Sports Health and Safety Institute was developed from the start of the Zackery Lystedt Law. SHSI would like to continue that advocacy work and build out a webpage within our current site to represent sports legislation throughout the United States. We are looking for a talented individual who could research and track the most up-to-date sports legislation initiatives and update the webpage.

Responsibilities:

  • Research updated legislation for the Zackery Lystedt Law in all 50 states
  • Research all current sports legislation in all 50 states
  • Build-out webpage to house all legislation

Ideal Candidate:

The Ideal candidate would have a passion for sports and physical activity, along with the understanding how important it is for a person’s physical and mental health. This candidate should be a self-starter and an independent worker who doesn’t need a lot of guidance. He/she should have a basic understanding of website updating in Wordpress.

Skills:

  • Ability to work in Wordpress
  • Strong research skills
  • Ability working independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to anticipate next steps

Compensation: $15.45 per hour

Time Commitment: 5 hours per week

Location: Remote
