Description:

What will you be doing? – Duties include
 

  • Under guidance of the HAI & AR Program Manager, ARLN Manager, and HAI & AR Medical Epidemiologist, provides epidemiology expertise for ARLN laboratory submission, reporting, surveillance, and infection prevention.
  • Develops and implements strategies for continuous quality assurance and improvement of ARLN data.
  • Sustains relationships with ARLN data providers and sentinel laboratories to assure continuous engagement and completion of program deliverables.
  • Assists with case and outbreak investigation activities for reportable HAI and highly antimicrobial resistant organisms.
  • Provides back-up for other communicable disease surveillance, investigation, and preparedness activities addressed by CDE, and conducts other duties as assigned.

Skills/Eligibility:

 
Required Qualifications
 

  • A Master’s degree in epidemiology, or a Master’s degree in public health including 12 graduate quarter hours or equivalent (500 level or above) in epidemiology and 12 graduate quarter hours or equivalent in biostatistics.
  • One (1) or more years of experience working in a public health agency or similar setting.
  • Desired Qualifications 
     
    • Demonstrated experience in the following:
      • Working in public health as an epidemiologist or in a similar role.
      • Additional years of experience in a public health agency or similar setting.
      • Project management or project coordination.
      • Familiarity with R coding.
      • Data analysis and statistical software skills.
      • Antimicrobial resistance and healthcare-associated infections.
      • Electronic medical record systems for data.
      • Working with stakeholders and/or customer service background.
