GatorWell Health Promotion Services is seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing professional in a new, innovative position working to address high-risk behaviors among the Greek community at the University of Florida.  While embedded within the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Affairs, the GatorWell Health Promotion Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating health promotion strategies, policies, programs and services to best support sorority and fraternity members. This professional will provide individual student services, and collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to health promotion in the Greek community.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in public health, health promotion, health policy or health education; degrees in other health related fields may be considered
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Certified in Public Health (CPH)
  • Knowledge of the American College Health Association’s Standards of Practice for Health Promotion in Higher Education (ACHA SPHPHE) and Healthy Campus 2020 objectives
  • Knowledge of NASPA and ACPA Professional Competency Areas for Student Affairs Educators
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health promotion, behavior change, population-based theories and models, and evidence-based health promotion programs/initiatives
  • Demonstrated skills in gathering, compiling, and synthesizing information to develop sorority and fraternity community initiatives and educational materials for a diverse group of students
  • Demonstrated skills in a variety of educational methods
