E-news is a quarterly electronic newsletter published by the School of Public Health in cooperation with the UW Alumni Association. Each issue contains updates on the School's students, faculty, staff and alumni. You can subscribe to E-news online.

Northwest Public Health, a journal of the School of Public Health and Community Medicine, promotes the discussion of public health issues, ideas, and innovations in the Pacific Northwest.

State of Washington's Children
The State of Washington's Children tracks the conditions of all children and families in the State of Washington. The reports are issued annually by the University of Washington and Washington Kids Count.

Professor and Associate Dean Mark Oberle and his family spent their Christmas vacation on Phuket Island, Thailand. On December 26, 2004, their vacation became part of a larger story as the South Asian tsunamis raced ashore. He has posted his narrative of the experience as well some pictures of the devastation.

When You've Seen One Health Department...
Visits by the Dean Pat Wahl and Associate Dean Mark Oberle to local health jurisdictions in the state of Washington provided insights into how the School was viewed by the practice community, the many challenges facing local health agencies, and the education and training needs of the public health workforce. Changes in the School, resulting from the visits, included the development of a new Master of Public Health in Community-Oriented Public Health Practice to complement the School's academic focus on research methodology.
