Drs. Chanelle Howe in the Department of Epidemiology and Akilah Dulin in the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences at the Brown University School of Public Health (BUSPH) invite applicants for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate position that will be supported by two NIH-funded R01 grants. The position will be affiliated with the Centers for Epidemiology and Environmental Health and the Center for Health Equity Research at Brown. These grants aim in part to assess (1) whether resilience at the individual, interpersonal, or neighborhood levels facilitate better HIV- or cardiovascular health-related outcomes and (2) the potential role of resilience in addressing persistent disparities or differences in health by race, ethnicity, or sex.
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct data cleaning and analysis; perform manuscript preparation and submission; give or aid in preparing for presentations at seminars and scientific meetings; and assist with other grant-related work as needed. The position is for a minimum term of one-year, with the expectation of renewal contingent upon performance and the availability of funding.
Required and preferred qualifications:
- A doctoral degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field is required
- Expert knowledge of SAS is required
- Experience analyzing complex longitudinal cohort data is preferred
- Experience with data harmonization is preferred
- Excellent communication (i.e., verbal and written) and collaborative skills are preferred
- Experience with the application of causal inference methods is preferred
- Established publication record in the area of HIV or cardiovascular health is preferred
- Interest in resilience or health disparities is preferred
