The University of Washington Department of Psychosocial & Community Health, in collaboration with the Global Center for Integrated Health of Women, Adolescents and Children (Global WACh), has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Research Coordinator supporting a new study dedicated to improving HIV services for adolescents in Kenya.  The research coordinator will support development and implementation of research activities under the direction of project faculty and in collaboration with international partners and Kenya-based personnel.  In this role, the Research Coordinator is expected to coordinate study activities, assist in development of study tools and research protocols, oversee human subjects applications and renewals, coordinate with fiscal and purchasing staff, establish data management strategies, coordinate staff training and data collection, and contribute to dissemination of findings.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Study Coordination
•Build collaborative relationships with implementation partners at study sites
•Prepare and track human subjects applications, modifications, and renewals
•Track and report site progress throughout the study
•Problem solve study operations and implementation issues
•Perform other related duties as required to keep the studies moving forward and on track

Protocol development and implementation
•Actively participate in protocol development for new studies
•Develop study materials as part of a team; including recruitment and consent tools, case report forms, standard operating procedures, study operations manuals, etc.
•Create study training materials and conduct study training as needed
•Contribute to data management strategies and build study data management tools
•Perform data quality audits and provide weekly data reports
•Coordinate data collection activities

Analysis and dissemination of findings
•Analyze quantitative and/or qualitative findings, depending on expertise
•Contribute to manuscripts and report writing

Administration and operations
•Develop and track project budgets and subcontracts in collaboration with grants management personnel
•Facilitate purchasing and procurement
•Coordinate travel and study meetings as needed
