The Department of Health Services Management and Policy at East Tennessee State University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in 2019. This position will support the department’s growing educational and research programs and will be responsible for teaching, conducting high quality research, and engaging in institutional and professional service. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the growth of the department’s programs.

Our Department, housed in a CEPH-accredited school of public health (, offers a collegial and thriving environment with opportunities for faculty development and growth. The department is home to bachelors, masters and doctoral degree programs in health management and policy. Faculty enjoy strong working relationships with the region’s public health and health care systems and the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across ETSU’s academic health science center.

ETSU is a Doctoral Research Intensive University and home to about 15,000 students. The Johnson City metropolitan area is an economical and healthcare hub recognized for the outdoor activities, parks, golf courses, hiking trails and lakes. Required Qualifications

A doctoral degree in public health, health management and policy, or a related field from a regionally accredited university. ETSU is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action employer.

Preferred Qualifications

Effective online and in-class teaching experience in health management and policy at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Strong research record as a demonstrated by publications in top academic journals and an ongoing research program/agenda. Collaborative research is a plus.

Practice experience in health services management or health policy.
