The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality is now hiring several new positions for the Cleaner Air Oregon program, its innovative new program that evaluates and protects public health from industrial air toxics emissions. We are seeking dynamic and dedicated applicants to develop and implement this innovative new program.

The Cleaner Air Oregon program currently has a full-time opportunity for a Source Test Coordinator / Air Quality Monitoring Specialist (Natural Resource Specialist 4) to join this innovative team, advancing our agency’s mission to protect and improve Oregon’s environment. This position is located in Portland, Oregon. This position is limited duration through June 30, 2019 and may become permanent depending on the Budget.

Skills/Eligibility:
  • Four years (4) of experience in a Natural Resource or Environmental field. 
    • At least one year (1) of the experience must be at a technical or professional level performing activities in a natural resource program such as researching and analyzing data, conducting investigations, applying pertinent laws and regulations, or coordinating and monitoring project activities; AND
  • Bachelor’s degree in a physical science, environmental science, or a closely related natural resource field; OR three (3) additional years of related, pertinent, experience.


Substitutions:

  • Master’s degree in a physical science, environmental science, or a closely related natural resource field will substitute for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
  • Doctorate degree in a physical science, environmental science, or closely related natural resource field will substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience.
