We will be looking to bring on fellows who will work alongside our diagnostics and devices and tools teams.

 Sample Projects: 

  • Diagnostics: The Diagnostics Program at PATH conducts research and development, technical evaluation, introduction, and technology transfer of low-cost, rapid, novel and easy to use diagnostic tests that are appropriate for use in developing country health systems. We will be recruiting for four fellows to support a variety of diagnostics related projects and special initiatives. Examples of past projects: developing affordable self-test for HIV, point-of-care assay to detect G6PD malaria deficiency.
  • Devices and Tools: The Devices and Tools Program at PATH develops, advances, and facilitates commercialization of health technologies for low-resource settings. PATH teams conduct collaborative research and development with universities, manufacturers, and other institutions to develop products that are appropriate and affordable for developing-country use. PATH’s goals in these collaborations are to achieve maximum sustainable public health benefit and to facilitate global technology access. We will be recruiting for two fellows to support a variety of devices and tools related projects and special initiatives in our on-site product development shop. Examples of past projects: testing of medical devices, design, procurement and construction of jigs and fixtures.

  • Must be a currently enrolled student in a technical, 2 - year, or undergraduate program
  • Experience in a lab or shop/engineering setting is a plus! 
  • 3 month summer fellowship (May/June - August/September)
  • Stipend of $3,000 month, plus up to $1,400 for housing support
  • Fellows DO NOT need to be Washington residents, but will be expected to live in the Seattle area for the duration of the fellowship
