Description:

CDC is filling this COVID-19 Temporary appointment position under Title 5 CFR 213.3102(i)(3) based on a critical hiring need resulting from the outbreak and spread of the "Coronavirus Disease 2019" (COVID-19), which has caused a public health emergency. Applicants who meet minimum specialized experience qualifications stated in this announcement and the needs of the agency will be referred to hiring managers for further consideration.

"This position will support the Federal Government’s response efforts to COVID-19. As a Public Health Advisor, you will: Responsible for carrying out and promoting public health program activities in local, state, and international settings. Provide advice, assistance, and/or consultation on public health programs in Federal, state, and or local settings. Identify public health problems and issues as they relate to unsafe or ineffective use by users or health professionals. Advise public health personnel on program policies, procedures, and activities." ]

REQUIREMENTS:

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Minimum Qualifications: Public Health Advisor GS-685-9/11/12 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR GS-09: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience in providing advice and assistance to entities such as State and local public health programs, and to various public, nonprofit, or private organizations on matters relating to the improvement of their public health activities.
OR Have a masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR Have a combination of specialized experience and graduate education that together meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR GS-11: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience in assisting with the planning, coordinating, developing and/or evaluating and implementing public health programs, policies, and activities to entities such as State and local public health programs, and to various public, nonprofit, or private organizations on matters relating to the improvement of their public health activities. OR Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related to the position. OR Have a combination of specialized experience and graduate education that together meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR GS-12: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include planning, coordinating, developing and/or evaluating and implementing public health programs, policies, and activities to entities such as State and local public health programs, and to various public, nonprofit, or private organizations on matters relating to the improvement of their public health activities.
