Responsibilities:
- Lead design confirmation analysis (e.g. DFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, ...) at Feature level and at integrated System/ECU level
- Assist in the development of the joint Ford-Supplier Development Interface Agreement (DIA) for externally supplied ECUs
- Responsible for tracking timely delivery of the related artifacts in the GTDS Technology Integrator and GPDS Integrator
- Support integrating into Body Engineering overall Quality Operating System (QOS).
- Maintaining the safety management system, assisting with development of safe job analysis/procedures, delivering training, auditing safety efforts, participating in safety focus teams, coordinating industrial hygiene monitoring.
- Leading and participating in Voluntary Protection Partnership (VPP) Programs.
- The Coordinator will also be trained as a Radiation Safety Officer and perform the associated responsibilities.

- Ensures that compliance programs and procedures meet the regulatory requirements and additional requirements related to our participation in OSHAs VPP.
- Provide direction and support to engineering, manufacturing and worldwide sales organizations on issues related to product safety compliance on proposed new product, product in development and released products.
- Work with New Product teams to review design concepts, determine applicable certification requirements, applicable standards, construction requirements, and identify regulatory requirements for safety related components.
- Lead safety analyses FMEDA, FTA
- Specify detailed safety requirements, including diagnostic, software and Hardware requirements
- Ensure the System safety requirements are implemented, and traced in Software and Hardware with linkage to appropriate safety analysis, Design Artifacts, Validation artifacts,
- Collaborate with project managers, development team, suppliers and customers on Functional Safety
- Develops and assists in developing site procedures and visual work instructions especially those that create process or safety improvement.
- Maintains all records for procedures and training.
- Leading and conducting detailed hazard assessments for a variety of initiatives, including machine safety, walking-working surfaces, and ergonomics.
- Identifying and recommending appropriate risk control measures necessary to eliminate or minimize hazards.
- Keep current on changes to Worldwide standards, regulations and certification requirements and communicate how they may impact released and products in development.
- Participate in Local Regulatory and Industry Safety committees related to standards development to help identify upcoming regulatory changes which may impact Bose products.
- Develops and/or maintains internal safety specifications that apply to products in his/her area of responsibility.

- Perform Hazard and Risk Analysis and derive Safety Goals for the feature
- Derive detailed Functional Safety Requirements (FSRs) and Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs)
- Capture FSRs and TSRs in SysML models and the VSEM system
- Ensure that FSRs and TSRs are properly cascaded to the HW and SW teams.
- Develop System level Safety VnV Plan & Report for the FSRs and TSRs
- Develop DVMs with proper traceability to the requirements
- Analyze Functional Safety Requirements to develop Technical Safety Concept and Technical Safety Requirements, in collaboration with engineering competencies
- Develop safety architectures in accordance with ISO26262
- Plan and coordinate project functional safety activities
- Develop and maintain the safety plan; monitor safety activities according to the plan
- Analyze customer requirements
- Administers and facilitates employee participation safety programs including internal audits, safety committee meetings, employee safety observations, and employee incentive programs.
- Manages all regulatory reporting
- Facilitates all regulatory audits
- Responsible for compliance with the 14 elements of 29 CFR 1910.119 Process Safety Management including management of change, process hazard analysis, mechanical integrity, and contractor management.
- Administers and manages industrial hygiene monitoring of employees
- Manages hazardous waste program
- Recommends, develops and manages capital projects with special emphasis on projects that improve site safety and lean manufacturing.
- Participates as an active member of a 4-person management team that drives plant improvements in safety, quality, lean manufacturing, training etc.
- Collaborate with others in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes health, safety and environmental (HSE) recommendations accordingly.
- Participate in the development of methods to drive continuous improvement of HSE practices.
- Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating health, safety, and environmental policy and procedure manuals.
- Support site leadership in ensuring compliance with all HSE regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
- Maintaining and updating local regulatory permits and compliance plans at assigned locations.
- Facilitating RC14001 management reviews, risk assessments and audits at assigned locations.
- Actively participating in the development of company EHS targets and objectives.
- Partnering with facility managers to establish and execute annual facility EHS targets and objectives.
- Tracking / analyzing local regulatory changes.
- Supporting facility self-assessments as well as corporate EHS auditing.
- Coordinate confirmation/verification reviews with product teams to ensure functional safety standards are being met throughout product development cycle
- Plan and coordinate Audit and Assessments with the product teams.
- Actively participating in the development or updating of company level procedures and processes.
- Developing and maintaining local facility EHS processes, documents, and forms.
- Identify and perform all required safety testing on prototype product to verify compliance to applicable Safety Standards before Agency submittals.
- Interface with Safety Agencies, prepare all required documentation, schedule and perform all required witness testing and provide additional documentation to obtain Safety Certifications.
- Review Certification reports generated by Safety Agencies for accuracy and make sure they are placed on the certification database.
- Provide regulatory support required for product alternate constructions.
- Work with suppliers, contractors, support staff and management to ensure that product safety is addressed for purchase for resale components and products.
- Provide support to Manufacturing regarding resolving Agency Factory Inspection non-conformances.
- Leading and assisting sites in conducting effective root cause analyses for incidents and trends.
- Ensuring corrective actions stemming from incidents are closed in a timely fashion.
- Reviewing and maintaining facility sustainability and environmental processes.
