Whatcom County Health Department is seeking temporary Public Health Nurses to assist in the response to COVID-19.  

  • Are you a highly skilled nurse with experience in infection control and disease investigation?
  • Do you have a passion for using data to monitor the health of your community and plan interventions?
  • Do you want to work with community partners to address important communicable disease and other notifiable conditions, and immunization rates?
  • Are you an enthusiastic team player with excellent project management skills?

If you answered yes to these questions, the Whatcom County Health Department is interested in learning more about your qualifications and experience to fill this position.  Public Health Nurses represent WCHD as a health resource person in the community and interpret public health programs and policies to individuals, families, community groups, schools, physicians and other collateral community agencies and service providers.

 Supervisor: Communicable Disease & Epidemiology Manager

 This position will be assigned to work full time for approximately 3 months, followed by 69 hours/month. Hours will vary. May require weekends. Duration of the assignment is dependent on the COVID-19 pandemic and the response required to address community needs.
