JOB SUMMARY:

Develop, improve and support Operations environmental health and safety policies and procedures. This includes methods and processes to improve safety and waste while meeting all appropriate regulatory requirements. Responsible for Safety compliance and activities on site.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Coordinate development of annual safety training plan and update/maintain monthly Safety Score Card.

2. Actively involved with any day-to-day safety issues, injuries, or projects.

3. Ensure completion of Safety Incident Investigation form for any and all incidents and near misses.

4. Developing different types of media/modules for training and development.

5. Train appropriate parties in safety materials and retain safety training records/documentation on the company’s network and/or online system.

6. Coordinate annual CPR/1st Aid training, annual hearing testing, and other related training/testing.

7. Ensure complete local and federal compliance of all environmental laws and regulations.

8. Coordinate safety committee meetings and safety suggestion (STOP) program.

9. Assists in preparing departmental budget as necessary; ensures conformance as required.

10. Participates with Fire Dept. and insurance inspections and follow-up with recommendations.

11. Oversees proper storage and disposition of hazardous materials and waste generated.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Operations.

Skills/Eligibility:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree or Advanced trade certification in related area.
  • Experience as a team lead, supervisor, or leadership role.
  • Forklift experience
  • Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing environment
  • Able to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics and building blueprints preferred
  • Ability to do minor metal fabrication and welding, preferred
  • Experience in Lead/6Sigma certified, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Knowledge of 5S and Project Management preferred
