Description:

Manages all aspects of the BCFM and CGP, including staff. Coordinates use of resources such as facilities, supplies, transportation, equipment, and staffing. Promotes the BCFM and CGP by assisting with developing and executing marketing strategies, including preparing and distributing marketing materials. Develops and maintains positive relationships with the general public, BCFM vendors, informational groups, entertainers, and regulatory agencies. Receives and investigates public and vendor complaints pertaining to the BCFM and initiates appropriate action to resolve valid complaints. Serves as on-site supervisor or instructor for the BCFM and other various special events, programs, and classes, as needed. Maintains records and prepares and submits activity and evaluation reports. Maintains budget records and financial reports, submits purchase requisitions, submits and authorizes payroll, and assists with annual budget preparation. Administers first aid and CPR at the Farmers’ Market and Community Gardens, when necessary. Takes all reasonable steps to maintain a safe work environment.

Salary: $39,128.86 - $47,430

Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday and some Saturdays; other times as necessary

Skills/Eligibility:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE - Bachelor’s degree in recreation administration, agriculture, event planning, or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience in a related field is required. Supervisory experience preferred. Two years related experience required. Experience working at a farmers’ market and/or working in a garden or farm, preferred.
TRAINING/SKILLS - Working knowledge of the design, planning, and implementation of special events. Working knowledge of various computer programs, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS - Ability to obtain certification for administering American Red Cross First Aid & CPR. Position requires a flexible work schedule including weekends and evening hours. Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.
