Description:

CMC Materials is actively recruiting for a Senior-Level EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) Specialist in their Hillsboro, OR production facility. This is a new position, and the selected individual will be responsible for overseeing the EHS program and processes for the manufacturing plant. The Specialist will provide technical support and guidance to the Corporate EHS Distributed team and when needed, provide EHS global support.

 

 

The key responsibilities of the site Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist are as follows:

 

Lead and support the EHS processes with focus on:

  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory (OSHA, EPA, DOT) and internal (ISO) requirements
  • Conducting regulatory compliance audits and inspections
  • Leading continuous improvement (LEAN) teams
  • Engaging employees in EHS initiatives
  • Evaluating data and providing trending analysis
  • Running EHS improvement projects
  • Conducting industrial hygiene evaluations
  • Conduct and lead EHS investigations to capture facts and develop corrective actions for improved safety performance
  • Assist in the development and delivery of EHS training to management and hourly employees
  • Perform technical guidance of waste programs and lead efforts to reduce waste and costs
  • Drive environmental waste and utility reduction efforts (Recycle, Reuse, Reduce)
  • Evaluate and lead ergonomic assessments
  • Assist in new chemical and new process introductions (NPI & NCI)

 

Skills/Eligibility:

Requirements:

Technical – Solid understanding of OSHA, EPA, DEQ, and DOT regulations. Practical experience in Industrial hygiene and ergonomics. A proven leader in EHS practices whose resume demonstrates (with metrics) how he/she adds value to the organization.

Business/Managerial – Project management, team organization and building, problem recognition and solving.

Behavioral – Self-directed, ability to work with limited supervision, strong written and verbal communication skills.

Computer – Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Experience – 5-10 years of relevant work experience in semiconductor or other manufacturing environment.

Travel – Occasional travel may be required.

Education Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Engineering or related field.

Certifications – Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH, CPE, etc. are preferred.
