Training and Exercise Coordinator - State of Washington Dept. of Health

What you will be doing:

Design and implement objectives and strategies that increase public health and medical response capabilities across the state within the parameters of the grant funding and based on program goals.

Participate in the development of the annual grant application and completion of associated requirements.

Represent the division/agency at meetings and act as a subject matter expert in training and exercise delivery and development.

Build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure training and exercise products meet the needs of our partners.

Work with Teammates to achieve the division’s strategic goals and strive to align work to those ends.

Lead assigned work to implement corrective actions learned from exercises, real incidents, and events within the agency.

Serve as an agency 24/7 Duty Officer on a rotating basis.

Serve in a command staff or general staff position during public health drills/exercises and actual responses.

Represent the agency at the State Emergency Operations Center during public health drills/exercises and actual responses as assigned.
Success in this position requires one to be a team player, defined as having a driving passion for the work, bringing humility to their job and people interactions, and understanding how their words and actions affect others.
Option 1: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Public Health, Emergency Management, Health Care Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or allied field; AND two (2) or more years of demonstrated experience in an emergency preparedness and response program or as a training/exercise instructor or coordinator.
OR
Option 2: Associates degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, Health Care Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or allied field; AND four (4) or more years of demonstrated experience in an emergency preparedness and response program or as a training/exercise instructor or coordinator.
OR
Option 3: Six (6) or more years of experience in an emergency preparedness and response program or as a training/exercise instructor or coordinator.
AND
Completion of National Incident Management System Advanced courses ICS 300 and 400 (or able to complete within 24 months of employment).

Demonstrated experience in public speaking and facilitation.
