The Graduate Student Grant Writer supports the Women’s Center by drafting and submitting letters of intent,
grant proposals and reports in support of the Women’s Center programs and services, specifically the Making
Connections Program. Sample of specific duties include: • Research new grant funding opportunities and
manage deadlines while ensuring relevance to Women’s Center programs; • Draft, edit and finalize letters of
intent (LOI) and final grant proposals; work with Women’s Center team to execute timely grant submittal while
adhering to UW Foundation policies; • Assist with correspondence regarding development and donor
stewardship. • Assist in creating and editing public relations materials for the Women’s Center; • Perform
general office duties and other assignments as necessary

• Work study eligible • Analytical – ability to synthesize complex or diverse information; collect and research
data; use institution and experience to complement data; design work flow • Written Communication – ability to
write clearly and informatively; vary writing style as needed; present numerical data effectively; • Initiative –
Asks for help and offers help when needed; • Well-developed interpersonal skills – kind, open-minded, active
listener and receptive to feedback • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access • Ability to work
independently and as a group • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential • Some
experience in grant writing, preferred **May require some in person work as safety guidelines are
established.**
