The Reckitt Global Hygiene Institute (RGHI) is pleased to announce the launch of the Reckitt Early Career Research Fellowship Programme. Founded in 2020, RGHI aims to support high-quality scientific research addressing the links between hygiene and health. Please see Section 2 for details on the priority areas identified by RGHI leadership. Fellowships will be awarded annually. RGHI anticipates awarding between 8 and 10 fellowships in 2021. The Reckitt ECR Fellowship Programme is designed to support researchers in the field of hygiene and health in the transition to independent researchers. It is open to researchers with up to 5 years of experience at the post-doctoral level (exclusive of career breaks). Fellows must be employed by a university or academic research institution for the duration of the fellowship and must be employed or secure an offer of employment prior to the submission of the application. Early Career Research Fellowship Programmes will provide: • Up to 3 years full time salary support • Up to $20,000 per year for research costs (up to $50,000 per year for research projects that involve field work or substantial laboratory work) • Up to $5,000 per year in travel expenses • Up to $5,000 per year for training and capacity building • Up to $5,000 per year to support open access publications. Skills/Eligibility:

The Fellowship is open to those with up to five years full time equivalent postdoctoral experience, excluding any career breaks. In situations where the application is for a first postdoctoral position, RGHI will consider applicants who have not yet completed their doctoral qualification, subject to successful graduation prior to the commencement of the Fellowship. • Applicants can be based at a university or research institute anywhere in the world. • Applicant must hold a current contract of employment or offer of employment from their proposed host at the time of application. • All applications must be accompanied by letters of support from the Head of Department (or equivalent) and proposed primary sponsor confirming their support for the Fellow and agreement to host the Fellow for the duration of the award.
