Capay Valley Farm Shop is a business-to-business food hub located in Esparto, California. We are an alliance of beginning, experienced, and multi-generational land stewards who practice regenerative farming and ranching that builds soil and protects water and air quality. We deliver high-quality food grown by 40+ farms and ranches in our agriculturally rich valley — sourceidentified and harvested-to-order vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers, pastured meats and eggs, dried fruits and nuts, olive oil, grains, and honey—throughout northern California. Position Description
Capay Valley Farm Shop seeks a positive, ambitious, and experienced individual to build relationships and develop market opportunities. The Sales Manager is responsible for achieving the sales goals established by the management team while ensuring the highest level of customer service. The Sales Manager will work closely with our General Manager, our Purchasing Manager, and a dynamic team of employees to improve core services and drive the organization’s next phase of growth. The position is full-time and salaried with the option to work remotely.

Responsibilities
● Participate in weekly management team meetings and quarterly in-person meetings to provide relevant sales updates, and coordinate and implement strategic activities
● Communicate with customers and other managers in a timely and effective manner
● Maintain contact lists, customer relationship management (CRM) software, and prepare electronic communication including twice-weekly Farm Order Guide availability emails to customers
● Track and analyze sales activities and trends to meet established sales goals
● Contribute ongoing improvements to streamline procedures and ensure efficient systems for customers and the management team
● Assist with administrative duties associated with running a food hub such as; researching and drafting professional communications and marketing materials
● Support business development: identify new accounts, solicit referrals, cold-calling, and inperson visits
● Manage social media communications

Skills/Eligibility:

● Excellent written and oral interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, experience in customer service, relationship-building, and engaging with the public
● Working knowledge of the seasonality of fruits and vegetables, experience in foodservice, the produce industry, and/or local agriculture preferred
● Knowledge of the Capay Valley region
● Eager to communicate business values, mission, services offered, and promotes a positive company image
● Commitment to exceeding the customer’s expectations
● A desire to learn and contribute to the success of the business as well as the farms and ranches we represent
● Excellent computer skills and ability to pick up on new software systems
● Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
● Exceptional attention to detail, the ability to prioritize workload, track, and consistently followthrough with pending matters
● Comfortable and competent working remotely with minimal supervision—take initiative, be a self-starter, have a sense of urgency, and be accountable
