The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist is part of a team working to protect the environment, employees, and the surrounding area. This is an entry level position to focus on and learn about environmental management systems and environmental regulatory requirements for manufacturing operations. Works directly with EHS, Manufacturing, and Facilities personnel to develop and improve upon EHS programs. Learn and engage in a variety of environmental programs (Air Emissions, Wastewater, Chemical Management, Waste Management) recycling, and occupational safety. The individual filling this role will work closely with employees from various departments and must be able to develop and maintain strong working relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Review and monitor various environmental regulations to provide assurance that NPI programs and procedures are compliant.

- Ensure compliance with Washington state department of Ecology Clean Air permits.

- Ensure compliance with King County Waste Water regulations.

- Manage all RCRA waste streams.

- Oversee recycling streams.

- Create and deliver training to staff as needed.

- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and programs.

- Maintain compliance with CA Proposition 65, REACH, RoHS, and Conflict Minerals Declaration.

- Other duties as assigned to support EHS activities.

Skills/Eligibility:

Required Qualifications

- Education: Bachelors of Science or Engineering Degree in an EHS discipline

- Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Highly organized with the ability to multitask.

- Self-motivated, able to take ownership of assignments, develop work plans and proactively seek feedback to ensure objectives are aligned and met.

- Team player, able to succeed in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Basic knowledge of environmental regulations

- Basic knowledge of Washington worker safety regulations.

The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist position is full time and located in our Seattle office.
