Hours are unknown as it is dependent on our case count. Position is not eligible for benefits including participation in Department of Retirement Systems Pension plan since hours are unknown.

This position is a temporary position, hours per week will vary and is funded through December 31st, 2021 as part of the District’s COVID response, position may be extended.

Under the direction of the Disease Intervention Specialist Supervisor, or designee, incumbent is a disease intervention specialist who performs COVID case and contact investigations.

The Snohomish Health District seeks candidates for a COVID Disease Intervention Specialist. This position is a part of multidisciplinary team that will assist public health with their work in identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting associated infections. This position collaborates with teams and individuals to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and sustain infection prevention strategies to prevent introduction of COVID-19 into high-risk settings.

Skills/Eligibility:

Education and Experience Required
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field such as biology, microbiology, chemistry, counseling, psychology, behavioral science, public health, social science, health education or nursing, or a related field.
Experience: At least 6 months of experience in COVID case investigation or related COVID work or experience in conducting compliance/regulatory site visits.
Or: In place of the above experience requirement, the incumbent may possess any combination of relevant education and experience which would demonstrate the individual’s knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.

Licenses, Certifications and Other:

  • Must be available to work occasional weekends and evenings.
  • Registered Nurses must have a valid Washington State registered nurse license.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire and a driving record that meets the requirements of Snohomish Health District’s insurance carrier
  • Background check pursuant to RCW 43.43.830.

Pay: $29.75 per hour
