Position Summary

The Mobile Food Pantry Coordinator works alongside our Warehouse Coordinators and the Food Bank Manager to run our free Mobile Food Pantry program and ensure that the needs of our food bank participants are met in a welcoming, safe, and respectful manner. After gaining a foundation in food bank operations, the Coordinator will spearhead the expansion of our newest food access program, the Mobile Food Pantry. Through this program, the Coordinator will work closely with community partner sites to bring essential food resources out into the community. Daily tasks may include tracking and planning the daily food menu, contacting potential new sites, and recording data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate an efficient and quality food distribution at our Wallingford location and through our Mobile Food Pantry services.
  • Coordinate and carry out weekly schedule for Mobile Food Pantry services based on community needs.
  • Establish key relationships with community partners to provide holistic services.
  • Conduct outreach to potential Mobile Pantry participants and identify opportunities for new sites.
  • Receive and record vendor/donor deliveries.
  • Process incoming product, rotate stock and monitor inventory levels.
  • Complete grocery rescue and other local pick-ups when needed.
  • Assist with data entry and monthly reports.
  • Attend staff meetings, conferences and other meetings as required.
  • Respond to special circumstances presented by client/volunteers (walk-ins, special needs, referrals, conflicts, etc).
  • Maintain a clean, orderly facility that meets or exceeds sanitary and safety guidelines/regulations.

HOURS AND COMPENSATION:

20 hrs/per week, paying $18.50/hr with benefits.

  • Comfortable operating a truck (step van); some professional driving experience preferred.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Will need to obtain a WA Food Worker card within four weeks after hire date. Certification fee will be paid by FamilyWorks.

Minimum Qualifications

This position is funded in part by the COVID Hunger Relief Staffing and Services Program.

  • Must live in King County.
  • Must be able to provide documentation of eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Must agree to work with TRAC Associates to complete all necessary requirements for enrollment into the COVID Hunger Relief Staffing and Services Program before the start of work.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential job functions.

  • Workplace is a warehouse-like setting, working extended periods on a cement floor.
  • Involves significant physical exertion on an everyday basis, including heavy lifting (50 lbs or more)
  • Requires driving a step van.
  • A dynamic and fluid work environment requiring flexible thinking and decision making.
