This is a full-time, project Microbiologist 1 position located within the Division of Disease Control & Health Statistics’ Environmental Microbiology Laboratory.  This project position is currently funded until June 30, 2023.

As a Microbiologist 1, you will be responsible for:

• SARS-CoV-2 testing in wastewater.
• Environmental Legionella and West Nile testing.
• Marine water quality testing for the Shellfish Program. 
• Sample accessioning, inventory, and sample preparation. 

This position will also perform basic tasks in monitoring equipment, restocking the laboratory with supplies, general housekeeping and other duties as needed by the lead scientists in the laboratories, and assisting with reporting and filing of the results of the analyses.

This position is required to have an on-site presence at the Shoreline, WA duty station.
