The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Environmental and Occupational Health at the rank of Assistant Professor.
 
The successful candidate, depending on individual expertise, can be asked to teach topics in environmental and occupational health, including EOH administration, air quality, food safety, industrial hygiene, environmental microbiology, hazardous waste and materials management, EOH program management, environmental sustainability, research methods and design, risk analysis, toxicology, vector control, housing, and water quality, and have research interests in an area related to EOH.
 
In addition to teaching, the position requires weekly office hours, attending faculty meetings, and service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are housed for recommending tenure and promotion.

  • Doctoral degree in environmental and/or occupational health or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required. ABD candidates will be considered, but doctorate must be conferred before August 23, 2023.
  • Research experience in environmental and/or occupational health or a closely related field.
  • California Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) certification or ability (by education and work experience) and willingness to obtain such certification.

  • Experience in OR understanding of using culturally responsive pedagogy that leads to equitable outcomes for all students
  • Experience in OR understanding of creating a student-centered learning environment
  • Research/Lab experience OR understanding of working in research labs with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience in OR understanding of adopting inclusive approaches to mentoring
  • Evidence of an on-going research program
