Celebrate National Public Health Week and SPH Career Month in April

Career Events

This month, SPH will host school-wide events to help students learn about careers in public health. Students can hear from alumni, have their resumes reviewed, attend workshops on salary negotiations, explore career paths, and network directly with organizations during the virtual career fair. These events coincide with the American Public Health Association’s National Public Health Week.

These events are put on in collaboration with the SPH Career Services Team, SPH Career Group, PH-GH Student Resource Coordinators, Student and Academic Services. For questions, contact sphcareers@uw.edu.

What Can I Do with My Bachelor's Degree in Public Health?

Nervous about life after graduation? Wondering what jobs are out there for your bachelor's degree in public health? The SPH Career Services team and Student Resource Coordinators invite you to join us at our “What can I do with my Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health” Alumni Panel on Wednesday, April 3rd from 5pm-6:30pm on Zoom! The panel will include 4-5 professionals with their bachelor's in public health, discussing all things post-baccalaureate! Two Years of War in Ukraine: I-TECH and Healthcare System Resilience

Join I-TECH, BIRCH, and DGH for a conversation with two critical members of the I-TECH Ukraine team, Oksana Danylenko, MD, MPMA, and Alyona Ihnatiuk, MPH, MS. Dr. Danylenko and Ms. Ihnatiuk will provide a presentation on the impact of war, as well as I-TECH’s activities in Ukraine, including new challenges and needs, new service delivery models, and calling upon action and support. Q&A session to follow.

This is a hybrid event, held both virtually on Zoom and in-person. We request that all attendees register for the event here whether attending online or in-person. Please note that capacity in HRC 101 is limited to 50 people.

Join the UW Consortium for Global Mental Health and the Population Health Initiative on Thursday, March 28 from 3:00-4:30pm in the Hans Rosling Center (HRC) room 101 as part of our 2023-24 speaker series on Global Mental Health. March features a panel discussion on perinatal mental health between four experts, two UW faculty and two practitioners working in the field with vulnerable mothers in Washington State. The panel will be moderated by Dr Anna Larsen, Postdoctoral Fellow, in Epidemiology and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
