This person will oversee a comprehensive public health approach to student substance use and serve as lead for alcohol and other drug misuse prevention efforts on and off campus, while joining a newly restructured, highly motivated and supportive work environment.
The Health Educator – Alcohol and Other Drugs, will develop and oversee evidence-informed health promotion, education and prevention programs that address the topic of substance use by Gonzaga students. The Health Educator addresses challenges and change collaboratively and creatively through supporting individual students, conducting campus needs assessments, building positive partnerships, implementing innovative programming and evaluating programmatic impact and reach. The position helps support the mission of the OHP of empowering Gonzaga students to maximize their potential by offering programs and services on the individual, interpersonal, and institutional levels that promote positive, holistic well-being and reduce high-risk behaviors.
Job duties include the delivery of brief motivational interventions.
