SPH Senior Class Gift

GIVING FAQs

What is the SPH Senior Class Gift?

The SPH Senior Class Gift allows students to support other SPH students. It is calculated by the total amount of gifts made by members of the senior class and gifts made in their honor.

What does the SPH Senior Class Gift Support?

This year for the Class of 2017, the Senior Class Gift will support the Undergraduate Student Assistance Fund. This fund assists students though scholarship money that can be used for tuition, travel, research, books, and other fees.

How much should I give?

We encourage graduating students to give $20.17 in honor of their graduation year! By giving a gift of $50.17, you are a “Class Act.” With the Class Act donation, $30 will go towards the UWAA Membership fund, which will cover your first year of membership to the UW Alumni Association and $20.17 will support the SPH Class of 2017 Senior Class Gift. All gifts, of any size, are welcome.

How do I give?

Giving online is the easiest way to support the SPH Senior Class Gift . If you wish to pay by cash or check, please email sphadv@uw.edu for directions.

Will I be publicly recognized for my contribution?

Yes. All donors to the SPH Senior Class Gift will be recognized in the following ways:

  • In our online roster here
  • In speaker remarks and on the slideshow at the School of Public Health graduation ceremony
  • On the big screen at the University-wide commencement celebration
  • At an end-of-the-year party hosted in honor of the graduating class and all donors to the SPH Senior Class Gift.

If you wish to be excluded from public recognition, please reach out to the SPH Senior Class Gift Council at sphadv@uw.edu.

What is the deadline to participate?

In order to be recognized at SPH graduation and the UW commencement ceremony, Thursday, June 1st is the deadline to participate in the SPH Senior Class Gift. However, gifts can still be made after this deadline.
