CEPH seeks an Accreditation Specialist who is able to begin work between July 1 and August 15, 2017. The position is located in Silver Spring, MD, which is on the northern border of Washington, DC. Silver Spring is serviced by the Brunswick Line of the MARC Train, Metrorail Red Line, Metrobus, Ride On and the free VanGo. Partial telework opportunities (max of 2 days/week) available after 6 months of employment, in accordance with CEPH telework policy. Salary range of approximately $51,000 to $54,000, commensurate with education and experience. Benefits are excellent, including 100% employer-paid premiums for health, dental and vision policies and generous employer contribution to 403(b) retirement account, with no matching funds required.



  • MPH from a CEPH-accredited school or program (required)
  • Excellent writing skills and interest in professional writing/editing o Candidates with a baccalaureate degree in a writing-intensive major, such as English or journalism are particularly encouraged to apply
  • Interest in higher education policy and issues
  • Ability to travel domestically approximately 10-15% o Travel dates typically defined at least 4-6 months in advance
  • Comfort and skill with public speaking
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and details simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and accomplish assignments on deadline
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the following: o team leadership and teamwork with internal and external parties o political savvy
  • Excellent analytical skills and comfort with decision making Accreditation specialist duties include the following:
  • Manage the accreditation review process, including site visit logistics, for assigned institutions
  • Serve as on-site coordinator for accreditation site visits at universities located throughout the US
  • Edit and prepare sections of site visit team reports
  • Assist with developing training materials and conducting training sessions
  • Respond to stakeholder inquiries
  • Assist Executive Director and Deputy Director with special projects, board meeting materials, etc., as required
