Formerly called the Vulnerable Populations Action Team, the program name change to CR + EP indicates a significant transition to a forward thinking, upstream program model that intends to more directly address the everyday system failures that lead to disproportionate outcomes in emergency situations. The Community Resilience + Equity Program Coordinator will work closely with the CR + EP Manager to accomplish a broad set of goals, including the development of a program framework that integrates programming related to health, climate change and emergency preparedness. This position is contingent on funding. This position will be responsible for updating, maintaining and evaluating the effectiveness of the Community Communication Network- a notification system that works in partnership with community organizations and leaders. This position will also support Public Health’s internal Equity Response Team- assuring systems and plans are in place to effectively assess, monitor and report on disproportionate impacts faced by vulnerable populations in an emergency response. The member will meet with community partners, and support the Community Resilience + Equity Program Manager projects. such issues as climate change, disability planning, emergency transportation and homelessness; and planning events and providing logistical support. Skills/Eligibility:
Member Duties : This position will be responsible for updating, maintaining and evaluating the effectiveness of the Community Communication Network- a notification system that works in partnership with community organizations and leaders. This position will also support Public Health’s internal Equity Response Team- assuring systems and plans are in place to effectively assess, monitor and report on disproportionate impacts faced by vulnerable populations in an emergency response. Additionally, this position will support health related coalition building efforts in historically marginalized communities, including in the Latino and Iraqi communities in King County. Other projects will be assigned and will likely to include representing the Community Resilience + Equity Program at a variety of meetings addressing such issues as climate change, disability planning, emergency transportation and homelessness; and planning events and providing logistical support.
