Description: A position is available within the framework of the project “How childhood social adversity shapes health: The biology of social adversity (PTDC/DTP-EPI/1687/2014), (POCI-01-0145-FEDER-016838)” funded by FEDER through the Operational Programme Competitiveness and Internationalization and national funding from the Foundation for Science and Technology – FCT (Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education).
Scientific area: Health Sciences
Activity outline: The successful applicant will be part of the research team. He/she will be responsible for data organization, management of databases, statistical analyses and writing scientific reports.
Work place: Instituto de Saúde Pública da Universidade do Porto, Portugal. Supervision by Doutora Silvia Fraga.
Duration and Stipend: The initial duration of the position is 12 months and a possible extension up to 24 months, if does not exceed the end date of the project scheduled for 16th May 2019.
Value of monthly maintenance allowance: The amount of the grant corresponds to €980 (free of taxes), according to the table of grants values of FCT in the country.
Call start and finish dates: January 2nd to January 16th 2018.Skills/Eligibility:
Mandatory: Applicants must have a Master degree in Health Sciences or equivalent areas; skills in the field of health studies, social epidemiology; knowledge of social determinants of health and/or the impact of stressful life events for health.
Desirable: Familiarity with measures of health inequalities. Knowledge of studies on violence. Experience and training in statistical analyses and scientific writing. Fluency in English documented by corresponding diploma or scientific papers as the first author.How to Apply:
